You will be registered to vote at the polling stations by presenting your Latvian passport, which will be marked to reflect that your vote has been made.

Voting by mail:
You can also submit your vote by mail. Applications for voting by mail must be submitted in advance between the 5th of May and the 14th of September to any of the 16 polling stations registered for postal voting.

For those voting from New Zealand, we recommend the Embassy of Latvia in Japan, as it is closest.

  2. When the Embassy receives your application form and passport, they will register you for voting. Your passport will be stamped and sent back to you with the voting papers and instruction on how to proceed further.

  3. Once you have received your voting papers, please fill in your vote and return the papers to the Embassy of Latvia in Tokyo by October 6 at the latest, preferably – before that. We kindly suggest to do that as soon as possible, as votes received after October 6 will not be counted.
